However, DermaZinc® can be made into a prescription through compounding at pharmacy that offers compounding services. Prescription strength or compounded DermaZinc® is simply the over-the-counter product (Spray, Cream or Shampoo) compounded with a steroid. Compounding simply means that a pharmacist will combine the steroid with the DermaZinc® product, which now makes it prescription strength.
